EVENT:

Most counselors will interface with the legal system at some point in their work with the public, even if they “don’t go to court”. This webinar will offer an overview of the various roles that family law attorneys and mental health professionals have within the court system and describe how to work effectively within that system from the perspective of both a court-involved therapist and a family law attorney. Participants will be able to identify alternate dispute resolution options for separating/divorcing families; will be able to  identify three different roles an attorney or mental health practitioner might have in cases of separation/divorce; and will be able to identify five legal/ethical considerations that may arise in family law cases.
