PROGRAM CONTENT DESCRIPTION:
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The workshop is designed to help participants:
1. Participants will learn to define and describe play therapy, its origins, and therapists who developed and practiced it.
2. Participants will learn appropriate ways to use mobile play therapy.
3. Participants will learn what categories of toys are needed for mobile play therapy and what toys fit these categories.
PRESENTER:
Dr. Joan Lawrence is a counselor educator and associate professor at Grand Canyon University, teaching school counseling and clinical mental health counseling students. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, a National Certified Counselor, and a Registered Play Therapist. She has previously served as a school counselor in North Carolina and had a private counseling practice in High Point, as well as working as a contractor in a Greensboro counseling practice.
