LCCNC thanks the Alamance County African American Cultural Center and Region 2 Representative Melissa Enoch for hosting the launch to the LCCNC Mental Health Awareness Month Member Appreciation Events!

Region 2 Connect held May 3, 2023 was hosted by Melissa Enoch, LCMHC, QS, LCAS, CCS, MAC, Region 2 Representative. Melissa is Founder of Women of Strength, Women of Strength is an Outreach program designed to provide women the opportunity for growth and Owner of Trinity Counseling Services LLC, Charlotte and Burlington locations.

Region 2 Connect was held at Alamance County African American History and Cultural Arts Center (AACAH) Burlington NC. This location was selected as its helps represents African American history of Alamance County and offers an opportunity to realize the challenges faced as African Americans but also the intersect of all cultures when discussing African American history.

AACAH is found in the old BMOC or Burlington Manufacturers Outlet Center and demonstrates how growth of an area can change the health and economy of some areas but also deplete other areas leading to the loss of retail, depletion of income and increase of poverty and crime.

More recently, efforts have been made to change through new businesses opening such as TEC Park, a space available for individuals with special needs to have fun and All the Rage, a fun space to ace throw and other activities.

To host Region 2 Connect in this space provides an opportunity for attendees to discuss career, future plans, needs, and to identify networks and resources available within the community.
