Rhonda Johnson

Hello Everyone!

My name is Rhonda Johnson, I am a full-time caregiver for my mother and I have a 5 year old Yorkie, named Kofi and a Shih-tzu poodle mix named Bean.  I am currently in school to get my second master’s degree to go along with my first from Liberty University in 2021 in Human Services: Marriage and Family.  I have decided to go back to Walden University to get my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to become a marriage and family therapist.  I hope to complete the degree program by 2025.

I was not born in North Carolina however; I have been here long time and currently live in High Point. Currently,  I am working on creating digital content for those who need to learn self-care and create boundaries because it is a very difficult process to begin saying no and not feeling guilty for it.   I love to draw, learn more about mental health, dogs, and coffee!

My current achievement is creating a workbook about self-care and creating boundaries as well as starting a podcast soon called ‘The Self-Care Revolution with RhondaJ’!  I am also excited to expand my role on the Communications Committee with LCCNC!

SELF_CARE TIP:

So, when did your humanness first show itself?  In 2020 with the Covid? When a loved one passed away and the grief wouldn't let you move until you cried? When you were sitting with a client and could not get out of your own head until well after the session has ended? Or is it still being blocked by your super-self?

I invite you to let that humanness show and even more to the point, show it to a trusted other.  You can start with something so very small but meaningful.  An example, if you are able, you can ask a friend that is great at marketing to help you with your next marketing project to get more clients.  You can also get a co-collaborator for that workshop you have been thinking about but can't seem to find the time to put together, so It's been lying dormant for a year or so.

You can do it, just start off small. I believe in you.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Rhonda J. Johnson
